French Drinking Culture : TAKE YOUR TIME, DRINK IT SLOW !

Compare with other countries, French people prefer to drink slow. They usually take time to taste the drink from their tongue to their heart! They will slowly slide the drink from the tip of the tongue to the throat, little by little. So in France there is a saying that ‘The better wine you have, the longer time you should take to drink’. Champagnes and Wines from France are world famous. Champagne is prepared for the celebration, whenever there’s a festival, party or just for a happy day. The French people always open the champagne; give a toast and celebrate together. I think champagne should not be taken while having barbecue. Otherwise the smokey taste will take away the real taste of the champagne; what a waste!

France being the country of food and drink, there are many drinking manners; such as “white wine with fish, red wine with meat” and so on. In addition, you should have the proper knowledge of the glasses you use while drinking the French wines, as well.
Obviously, to be a “French Wine Expert”, I still have got long way to go…

Greek Drinking Culture ：HALF-COCKED !

Greece is the country of four ancient civilizations. The culture of Greece and China are similar in many ways and of course, included the drinking culture as well! In Greece the most famous alcohol should be “ouzo”. Around 42 degrees, ouzo smells like a bit licorice; The proper way to drink ouzo is to put some ice cubes first and gently shake a little, till the clear liquid turn to soft white color then drink it up “enmmmmmm”; it just taste right !!!!

In Greece, people often go to restaurants and bars to drink, but they do not drink like Chinese people, who eat lot of food while drinking. Mostly the Greeks only drink with dried fruits and olives and to drink as a social habit of their culture would be Half-cocked; which means half way to be drunk what we call “Weizui” in Chinese!

British Drinking Culture : ART OF MIXING

British Whiskey was formally introduced in the 1839 plant production, but in 1494, England already started making whiskey with barley. It can make people get fat and moody if you drink too much. Today, the smart British still are the best at making Whiskey such as whiskey with rye, oats, and corn mixed together. As everyone knows Japanese people are very good at copying (hahaha) they always wanted to find out the secret behind British whiskey mixing art. But until now, even they have drinks like ‘Nikka’ and ‘Suntory’, still cannot compare with the British.

South Korean Drinking Culture : DRINKING = MAKING NEW FRIENDS

In South Korea, if u don’t like to drink, you cannot have new friends. Koreans favorite drink is called “The bomb”; so exactly; what is the bomb? Its kind of drink which is mixed with whiskey and beer. It’s extremely strong and easy to make people drunk, thatz the reason they like to drink it more often. Now-a-days, people can find the bomb almost everywhere in South Korea and drinking the bomb even became an important means of socializing! The bomb has become a mode of entertainment for the local people in all kinds of parties as well as in KTVs.

Japanese Drinking Culture : DRINKING = WORKING

Japanese drinking is the same as their daily work. Everyday after work, they must “report back” to the bars. The major decisions of work are never made in office, but the bars and hotels. So, all the bars become a paradise for Japanese men, after work, they never go home without getting drunk enough. Plus I think, Japanese men drinking in this way is to extricate themselves from the pressure of work!

German Drinking Culture : BEER BEER BEER, NOTHING ELSE !!!

The famous German beer is made from barley but as I said before, too much barley can make people fat. When I talk about ‘Germans’ and ‘Beer’, only one thing comes in my mind, BIG!!!! “Beer Belly, Beer Glass, Beer Festival, Beer Garden, Beer Sausage, even underground beer house, all these are “Big”!

Germans have the world’s biggest beer glass, a glass which can hold almost a litter of beer. There are two different ways like “cold beer”(which relates to describe people as graceful) and “beer corpses” (which refers to those who drink too much lying on the roadside). After all, it’s just easy to tell how much the Germans LOVE TO DRINK BEER!

Mexico’s Drinking Culture : UNIQUE

Mexicans are big fans of beer too. Beer in Mexico is not only for drinking, people use it for cooking as well! The Mexican Beer is very unique and is made of agave.

PS: The reason I wrote this article really just because I have been drinking too much everyday, lately !!!!!!! lol. Let’s get pissed !
